Was Jesus a Reiki Master?
Many students asked me is Reiki consistent with the Bible. Was Jesus a Reiki Master? My research reveals that according to the Bible, Jesus healed many people by the laying on of hands.
According to an ancient text, Reiki is a healing method, which uses Universal Cosmic Energy, transmitted by the Master to the client by the laying on of hands. The static Universal Cosmic Energy is accessible to all students of Reiki from the first day of training, and the dynamic is mastered only at advanced levels. While Reiki has a spiritual component, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki.

Healing by the Laying on Of Hands
Luke 4:40– When the sun was setting, everyone who had any friends suffering from various diseases brought them to him. He placed his hands on each of them and began healing them.
In Matthew, Jesus uses touch to heal Peter’s mother-in-law of a fever and two blind men by touching their eyes. In Mark, Jesus uses his hands to heal a man with leprosy.
Matthew 8:15– He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began serving him.
Matthew 20:34– Then Jesus, deeply moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and at once they could see again. So they followed him.
Mark 1:41-42– Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and told him, “I do want to. Be made clean!” Instantly the leprosy left him, and he was clean.
Healing with Hands does not Require Faith
While faith was required for many of the healings he performed, it appears that the healings Jesus did with his hands did not require faith. DivineYu Reiki does not require faith on the part of those receiving a treatment in order for it to work.
Mark 6:5-6– He couldn’t perform a miracle there except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their unbelief. Then he went around to the villages and continued teaching.
Initiation by the Master
Jesus passed the power to heal on to others, which is like the Reiki initiation process. His disciples became healers.
Luke 9:1-2, 9:6– Jesus called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Then he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. So they left and went from village to village, spreading the good news and healing diseases everywhere.
Jesus gave secret teachings only to those who he had given healing power, as indicated in Matthew 13:10-11 and Mark 4:10-12 & 34. Similarly, the true Reiki teachings are only made available to those who take a Reiki class.
Matthew 13:10-11– Then the disciples came and asked Jesus, “Why do you speak to people in parables?” He answered them, “You have been given knowledge about the secrets of the kingdom from heaven, but it hasn’t been given to them.”
We Can do the Same and More
The Bible indicates that we can do the same as Jesus did, and more.
John 14:12- Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, the one who believes in me will also do what I’m doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I’m going to the Father.
This quote from Jesus is commonly paraphrased as: “Anything I can do, you can do and more.”
Psalms 82:6-Indeed I said, “You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.”
John 10:34- Jesus replied to them, “Is it not written in your Law, I said, “You are gods?” ”
1 Corinthians 12:4-11- There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

The Truth Will Be Revealed
Luke 8:17-There is nothing hidden that won’t be revealed, and there is nothing secret that won’t become known and come to light.
Reiki masters practice compassion and new ways to service humanity. As they progress from degree one to nine, they are walking an individual path to self-realization. At the DivineYu Academy, the students are taught the advanced skills in Reiki practices, which are not based on any doctrine, but are simply new abilities, which they can use to better their lives and the lives of those around them. There is no religious doctrine in Reiki whatsoever. It is a healing technique, accessible to all, similar to meditation. Reiki is used in many hospitals and rehabilitation centres across North America.
